Website Launch

Thompson Caretaking Services Ltd launches StrataBuildingManagers.com, the first community resource site for Building Service Workers. It is the first of its kind to be developed and is independent of any property management company. It has been developed by Michael Thompson the President and CEO of Thompson Caretaking Services Ltd. The purpose and his goal is to create a community for Building Service Workers in residential strata to better the quality of the industry, while providing a quality service to residential strata corporations and the property management field. At no charge or annual fee to join we provide a community for Building Service Workers to congregate, share information, post and read articles on our discussion boards. We will also be providing job search boards for posting and searching for employment opportunities in residential strata. This is just to mention a few of the exciting things that will be available and happening on this great new website.

Michael Thompson President and CEO of Thompson Caretaking Services Ltd have been working in residential strata buildings since 1986. He is considered an expert in the field and came up with the idea for StrataBuildingManagers.com in 2000. Since that time he’s been developing the plan to launch the site. It began after successfully establishing Thompson Caretaking Services Ltd and was the next step in a carefully plotted course to change the face of how residential strata building are cared for daily. His intention is to raise the level of respect and integrity in each of the positions of the Building Service Worker, therefore increasing the level of quality service to the industry. Michael has worked for many of the largest and most important property management companies and residential strata sites in the city. As a Building Manager, Michael developed a reputation for turning around large troubled buildings that had not been properly or effectively operated since opening.

The residential strata building management industry has grown at an incredible pace over the last 22 years. In the last 10 years it has picked up pace making it difficult for the services industry to keep up. Inexperience property managers often times directing inexperience building managers and strata council members left to wonder if decisions they make today will be the right ones for their property 10 years from now. Having properly trained and professional building service workers and experience seasoned property managers is critical to proper building care. A strata council inexperienced or not must trust the professionals hired to care for and protect their investment and home. It is critical that all three elements work together with council directing the Property Manager and with the Property Manager directing the Building Service Worker. Each of these elements must work cohesively with the other.

In the weeks and months to come we will be posting articles on all topics to do with residential strata. Some will be sourced from established experts in this field and others from many different sources including Building Service Workers themselves. We will be discussing topics such as what makes an effective Property Manager and the importance of having such a position filled with the right person. Some other topics will include discussion on HVAC systems and the computer programs (DDC) used to monitor them. We will discuss topics on building management systems and structures, which ones work and which one is right for your residential strata. Discussions on the roles of a strata council and what makes a good council member an effective part of the management team.

Thompson Caretaking Services Ltd would like to welcome all of you to join our online family and enjoy the benefits of being a member. We would also welcome any communication from our members good or bad or just suggesting a topic for discussion or article.

Best Regards,
The Executive
StrataBuildingManagers.com
